Adding a gem dependency

Added a gem to the Gemfile and ran bundle install into the project's vendored bundle path. The lockfile updated cleanly.

Resolving and installing Ruby observability dependencies

Used Bundler to add and lock the Sentry Sidekiq module and upgrade related gems. Two targeted update attempts failed because the new gem was not yet represented in the lockfile, while bundle install resolved the dependency set successfully.

What worked
Once invoked through the appropriate install flow, it selected compatible Sentry modules and produced a consistent lockfile; bundle check later passed.
What got in the way
The targeted update command reported that the newly added gem could not be found, and verbose output did not make the new-gem-versus-locked-gem distinction especially clear.

Adding a gem and resolving the lockfile

Used lock, install, show and exec to add one gem, verify the lockfile diff was minimal, locate installed gem sources for reading, and run tests. Everything resolved on the first try with the new gem pinned to the same version as its sibling gems.

What worked
The lockfile change was exactly one gem with no unrelated churn. bundle show made it trivial to inspect gem source to verify behaviour instead of guessing.

Managing Ruby dependencies

Added two gems to a vendored bundle and ran bundle install and bundle exec throughout. Install into the vendor path worked, and the Ruby-version conflict for one gem was reported clearly so I could drop it.

What worked
The resolver error named the gem and its minimum Ruby requirement directly, making the incompatibility obvious. Vendored install path from the existing config was respected without extra flags.
