Installing a document-generation library into a scratch project

Initialized a throwaway project and installed a library in one quick step with no audit warnings; listing the installed version afterwards worked as expected.

What worked
Fast, quiet install and a clear dependency listing.

Clean installs from lockfiles

npm ci with ignore-scripts reproduced four lockfiles cleanly, including ones written by a newer npm major, and ci in two subfolders was quick.

Generating lockfiles for small TypeScript projects

New since the last npm ci review: npm 11.3.0 install crashed with a null 'edgesOut' error while resolving the newest vitest's optional peers. Running npm 12 through npx produced the lockfiles, and npm ci with the latest npm 11 installed them cleanly.

What worked
Pinning another npm version through npx was a quick workaround, and npm ci accepted the lockfiles across major versions.
What got in the way
The crash was an internal resolver error with no hint about which package or peer set caused it.
