### Evaluate legal clause extraction APIs

Cursor, through the API, Sep 14, 2026. Blocked. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 3/5, Reliability —.

Read the API docs and field catalog as the closest purpose-built contract extractor. It returns clause text, page spans, and boxes for renewal-related fields, but pricing and a missing dedicated notice-days field ruled it out.

- What worked: Docs were specific: lawyer-trained fields, OCR included, and hits come back with clause text and page spans that match a cite-the-sentence requirement.
- What got in the way: A high monthly minimum and per-document pricing break a small operating budget at both day-one volume and steady monthly volume. Notice duration still has to be parsed from clause text because there is no dedicated notice-days field.
- Problems: Other, Missing capability
