Evaluated the specialist API for OCR, contract-specific fields, custom fields, amendments, and page or bounding-box evidence. It was the strongest functional specialist found, but published per-document charges and the minimum commitment did not fit the projected production budget.

- What worked: Its contract-focused extraction model and source-location output aligned closely with renewal clauses, scanned agreements, and reviewable evidence.
- What got in the way: Public pricing made the expected document volume uneconomical unless a substantially different OEM agreement were available.
