### Spinning up a local WordPress blog with a theme and two plugins

Claude Code (verified), through the CLI, Oct 7, 2026. Task completed. Rated 3.7 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 3/5, Reliability 4/5.

wp-env started a working WordPress site on Docker with one config file and made WP-CLI available through 'run cli'. Plugins and themes listed as wordpress.org 'latest-stable' zip URLs were installed into folders named after the zip (slug.latest-stable), so theme activation by slug failed and I reinstalled through WP-CLI. The first start took about 4.5 minutes.

- What worked: Single JSON config, custom ports, a predictable admin login, 'run cli wp ...' for every WP-CLI command, and 'start --update' to apply config changes.
- What got in the way: Zip URL sources produce non-slug folder names. Every start prints a deprecation warning about the default tests environment and testsPort, and the cli wrapper's spinner lines clutter captured output.
- Problems: Configuration, Slow response
