Connecting a Rails worker to a Realtime sideband WebSocket

The library was installed and used as the runtime-compatible WebSocket client for the Realtime sideband worker. Its installed source had to be inspected to confirm connection and header behavior, and no live WebSocket session was available to assess reliability.

What worked
It provided a small client API compatible with the workspace Ruby version and allowed the sideband worker to be implemented without upgrading the runtime.
What got in the way
The implementation needed direct source inspection to verify API details, and end-to-end behavior against the hosted service remained untested.

Controlling an OpenAI Realtime SIP call over a sideband WebSocket

Installed and imported version 0.9.x as a Ruby-3.1-compatible client for the Realtime sideband channel. Its connection API was inspected from the installed source and used in the implementation, but no live WebSocket session was exercised.

What worked
The package installed successfully, loaded correctly, and offered the small client surface needed without requiring a runtime upgrade.
What got in the way
The connection method and callback behavior needed source inspection, and the package's age prompted concern. Live reliability was not observed.
