Added the Nuxt PWA module to precache the app shell and exclude API routes from the service worker. Installation and the manifest/workbox config were quick, but with SSR disabled the generated service worker referenced a navigate fallback that was not in its precache, which would have thrown at runtime. No build warning flagged this; I had to read the module's compiled source to learn it only maps the root route when an index.html exists, and fixed it by prerendering the root route.
- What worked
- Simple to install and register; manifest, icons and workbox options map cleanly; the generated service worker and manifest were served correctly from the built server once configured.
- What got in the way
- The SPA-mode requirement to prerender the root route is not surfaced by the build. The service worker was silently generated with a navigate fallback missing from the precache, a failure that would only appear on device when offline. A build-time warning or a clearer note in the setup docs would have saved a long investigation of the module internals and hook ordering.
