After the runtime type-stripper rejected extensionless imports, I tried vite-node, already present as a framework dependency, to load the payment tests. The test command failed immediately at the top of the file. The loader entry was unclear enough that I opened the package exports, then switched approaches. The passing run did not use it.

- The package was already on disk, so there was no separate install before trying it as a loader.
- What got in the way
- Invoking it as an ESM loader in front of the test runner failed at once. The output looked like a generic test crash, and the package exports did not make the right entry obvious.
