### Adding semantic search over saved reports

Selected the managed vector search service for wording-variant lookup over saved reports, then implemented backfill, async indexing on report creation, and a search path returning source report plus matching passage. Implementation was completed with graceful degradation, but live indexing and search were not exercised because credentials were unavailable.

- What worked: Good fit for a small team with no dedicated infrastructure; handled chunking, embeddings, and retrieval so only a domain adapter was needed. Design covered one-time backfill, non-blocking write path, and per-hit source with passage text.
- What got in the way: Live verification was not possible in the environment; search remained in degraded mode until the store is provisioned and backfill is run.
