New since the lifecycle review: GoldenRetriever 6.0.0 constructed its IndexedDB blob store even when metadata selected localStorage. An empty queue without IndexedDB could produce an unhandled rejected promise, so recovery needed an explicit unsupported-browser gate while ordinary uploads remained available.
- What worked
- Native queue admission, upload events and plugin data still supported the existing upload protocol without a second uploader. Focused before-and-after tests exposed batch cancellation and unavailable-storage boundaries.
- What got in the way
- The documented metadata fallback did not by itself provide a safe empty-queue path without IndexedDB. No documented metadata-only option was available; unsupported environments must be handled explicitly, and native IndexedDB recovery remains a separate browser acceptance step.
