I installed the DefinitelyTyped jpeg-js declarations, then found they describe the 0.3 decoder while the installed package is 0.4 and publishes its own types. Those older declarations can win module resolution and hide the package types. I uninstalled them and compiled against the package declarations. They did not finish the typing job.
- What got in the way
- The published declarations target an older major than the decoder in use, and keeping them would make the compile see the wrong API. Recovery was to remove the package.
