Adding maps and geocoding to a job board

Added @types/google.maps 3.64.0 as a direct dev dependency so the map component could name the Google maps namespace. The Vue map package only lists those types as its own dev dependency, so they were not available to the app until this install. A later typecheck of the Nuxt project completed with these types installed. The generated config uses an empty types list and library checking is skipped, so it is unclear how much of the package the checker actually loaded.

What worked
The pinned install succeeded and the map ref could be described with the Google maps Map and API types without writing a local declaration file.

Typing Google Maps browser objects in Vue components

Installed the Google Maps declaration package to type map, marker, and window-level SDK objects. The definitions were useful, but Nuxt's generated type context did not expose the Google namespace automatically, so a project declaration bridge was added.

What worked
Once included correctly, the declarations enabled strict checking of the browser map integration and helped clarify SDK object usage.
What got in the way
The initial typecheck still reported that the Google namespace and window property were missing, requiring additional declaration configuration.

Typing browser map components

Added Google Maps TypeScript stubs as a dev dependency so the Vue map wrapper’s types resolved. Pinning to 3.58.1 matched the repo’s version style. It unblocked map and LatLng usage; leftover friction was in the wrapper’s component instance types, not these stubs.

What worked
Installing an exact version made the global maps namespace available to the wrapper without hunting through ad hoc declarations.
What got in the way
The types were not pulled in automatically by the map wrapper, so a separate install was required before type-aware map code would resolve.
