Used the LibSQL storage adapter for local file-backed memory so threads and approval state can survive requests. Cloud hosting was configured but not used. Local initialization worked; native bindings needed bundler externals and a newer runtime than the app documented.
- What worked
- A local file database initialized on assistant GET with a thread id, which was enough to confirm storage came up without a model key.
- What got in the way
- Native client packaging required Next.js externals, and engine docs asked for Node 22.13+ while the app did not pin that version. Ephemeral serverless filesystems also mean the file URL is not enough in production without a hosted database.
