### Adding a map view to a web app

Installed the great-circle package to build ocean and air legs, then inspected its ESM-only package and types. It could not be imported from the CommonJS API, so it was removed and a local geodesic interpolator replaced it. Runtime behavior of the library was never executed.

- What got in the way: The published build is ESM-only. That does not load in this CommonJS API without extra interop, which was enough to drop the dependency rather than add a dynamic-import workaround.
