Adding onboard maps and turn-by-turn navigation to an Android app

Integrated the Android Navigation SDK for in-app map markers, while-in-use location, and onboard routing. Official getting-started pages failed to load, so Gradle modules, init, Compose map APIs, and telemetry-off settings were taken from search hits and a public example app. Source was wired in; artifacts were never resolved or compiled in this environment.

What worked
The module split covered init, Compose map display, visualization, the default location provider, and route planning, which matched the needed map, position, and guidance features. The public example app’s Gradle catalog made the Maven repository, version, and flavor dimension discoverable once official docs were unreachable.
What got in the way
Vendor getting-started URLs returned conflict errors, so package names and constructors had to be guessed and corrected repeatedly. One example-app source path was missing. Onboard map packaging, JNI picks, and a version flavor dimension added setup weight. The SDK never compiled or ran here, so the written calls stayed unverified.

Adding offline maps and in-app turn-by-turn navigation

Searched enterprise Android docs for offline in-app turn-by-turn after other vendors failed policy checks. The query confirmed the product exists in that category, but the record never reached a full terms or API read, and implementation went to another SDK.

What worked
Public search made it obvious that an offline, in-app navigation edition is part of the enterprise lineup.
What got in the way
Documentation review stopped at screening. There was not enough detail in what was retrieved to judge processor terms, background traffic, or Gradle setup, so it was not a complete alternative assessment.
