Used public docs and search to pick the managed Timescale service and a direct Postgres URI with SSL, environment-stored credentials, and separate paths for metadata writes versus bulk loads. Never provisioned a live service.
- What worked
- Search results made the current product name, wire protocol, SSL requirement, and direct versus pooled endpoint distinction clear enough to design the client connection flow.
- What got in the way
- A fetch of the getting-started service docs timed out, so the hosted product name and connection details had to be pieced together from search instead of the primary page.
