Validating GitLab CI YAML syntax

The Symfony Yaml component parsed the modified CI file successfully on repeated checks, providing a fast local syntax validation step through the project's existing PHP dependencies.

What worked
Its direct parse-file API was concise, already available in the project, and consistently accepted the resulting configuration.

Validating application and deployment configuration

Used through the framework YAML linter for ordinary configuration. It could not parse raw Helm templates, so those reported errors were not useful for chart validation and Helm plus kubeconform were required instead.

What worked
It remained useful for native application YAML and participated in successful container validation.
What got in the way
Template expressions in chart sources were treated as malformed YAML, and the pinned component line also blocked the newest search SDK and was reported by the audit as needing maintenance.
