### Adding subscription billing with hosted checkout and receipts

Used stripe-php indirectly through Cashier and directly for Checkout Session constants and for stubbing its HTTP client layer in a throwaway verification script. The ClientInterface and ApiRequestor::setHttpClient hook made it easy to return canned responses so webhook, invoice and PDF paths could be exercised offline. Constants like the paid payment status were where I expected them.

- What worked: Pluggable HTTP client made offline verification possible without mocking frameworks. Clear, well-named constants and error messages (the invalid-key error named the masked key).
- What got in the way: Objects built from hand-written fixtures emitted notices about missing optional fields that real API responses would include; harmless but noisy.

### Implementing hosted checkout and subscription synchronization

Installed and imported the official PHP SDK to create customers, Checkout sessions, billing portal sessions, and verify webhook signatures. Local client construction and service discovery worked consistently, and the implementation was updated from an initially arbitrary older constraint to the current compatible release line.

- What worked: The SDK exposed clear customer, Checkout, billing portal, and webhook APIs and avoided the unavailable BCMath requirement that blocked the first approach.
- What got in the way: No live Stripe account call was made, so remote API behavior was not assessed. The initial major-version choice needed a package metadata check and upgrade.
