Installed getstream 6.0.0 to mint tokens, upsert users, manage channels, and create calls. Inspected the installed package because public Python video docs were missing. App tests mocked the client rather than calling the live API. The version was pinned to match the project's locked dependencies.
- What worked
- After install, the Stream client plus call, channel, member, and recording-setting models were present and inspectable. Token creation, channel update, call member updates, and recording-off overrides were clear enough to implement provision and revoke without a live account.
- What got in the way
- Importing Chat from the chat subpackage failed because that name is not exported. Several method signatures had to be read from the installed package instead of docs, including user upsert calling conventions. The package pulls a large dependency set compared with minting JWTs locally.
