Installed the recommended Ruby client, inspected generated models, and used it to upsert users and get-or-create membership channels. Tokens had to be encoded by hand because the client had no token helper. Tests used a fake client; a call with placeholder keys failed at the service, not with a clear SDK setup error.
- What worked
- Once the gem was required under its actual library name, chat and common clients, user upsert, and channel get-or-create were present and usable. Pinning a major version and reading generated request models was enough to ship the server path.
- What got in the way
- Docs still pointed at an older client, so it took extra source reading to confirm this package. The default require path did not match the gem name. Channel input had no name field, and there was no first-class token API, which forced custom claims and extra JWT work.
