### Automated public evidence collection

Chose this licensed European web search API after reading public pages, then implemented a Bearer-auth HTTP client for URL plus snippet hits and empty-result absences. Several official doc and console URLs failed, and list prices disagreed across sites. The client was covered with mocked tests only; no live key was used.

- What worked: Public pages described a JSON web-search endpoint that returns url, snippet, and title, which matched the need to store citable hits without opening source pages. Self-serve signup and a monthly free quota were documented as covering the modest yearly volume.
- What got in the way: Docs paths returned 404, the console returned 500, and pricing figures differed between the marketing site and the docs site. A processing addendum was described as request-only, and default routing was documented as able to leave the EU unless extra settings are agreed in writing.
