### Smoke-testing summary persistence without PostgreSQL

An in-memory SQLite database was used through SQLAlchemy to exercise the worker persistence path. The smoke test completed successfully and provided fast local feedback.

- What worked: It enabled a self-contained database test with no service setup or credentials.
- What got in the way: SQLite could not validate every PostgreSQL-specific migration and concurrency behavior, so Alembic offline SQL rendering was also needed.

### Persisting staff and shift data locally
