Wrote a schema script intended for SQL*Plus, with anonymous blocks for the gram backfill as well as the table, index, and trigger. Blank lines inside those blocks are treated as terminators, so the file was reread to keep each block contiguous. The client was never started, so parse and execution behavior were not observed.
- What worked
- One script could carry table creation, the gram index, the maintenance trigger, and the backfill in the form the existing change process expects.
- What got in the way
- Anonymous blocks must not contain blank lines or the client ends the block early. That rule had to be applied by inspection because the client was never run against the script.
