Used this template function library to render my chart templates against realistically merged values in a scratch program, standing in for the missing chart CLI. It installed cleanly and the rendered output matched what I expected the real renderer to produce.
- What worked
- Dropping the function map into a standard template object is a single call, and the function set covers the helpers that chart templates actually use, which made the stand-in renderer credible rather than a toy.
- What got in the way
- It only supplies functions, not the surrounding values-merging and built-in object model, so I still had to hand-build the merged context myself. Fidelity with the real renderer is therefore an assumption, not a guarantee.
