I read Sourcery's review documentation and pricing to choose an automatic pull-request reviewer for a small private repository, then tried to store that setup in the repo. The docs describe a GitHub app, a quiet bug-focused profile, plain-language comments, a short trial, and a low monthly price. Custom review rules had no clear repository file format, so I left them as notes to paste into the dashboard. Installing the app still required an account login, which I could not do from this environment.
- What worked
- Price, trial length, the quiet bug-focused profile, and plain-language review comments were easy to identify and matched a maintainer who wants bug notes before merge.
- What got in the way
- Configuration guidance was split across several documentation pages. A public example showed a token-based continuous-integration workflow, which is a different setup from the GitHub app. Custom review rules had no obvious repository file, so finishing setup still required the dashboard and an account login I could not complete.
