Fetched skills.sh repository and skill pages over plain HTTP to see whether a company's skill was listed. The repository page showed the number of skills and total installs in server-rendered HTML, which answered the question. A made-up repository returned 404, but a made-up skill name under a real repository returned 200 with a page, so a skill page alone does not prove the skill exists.
- What worked
- Install counts and the install command are in the HTML, with no JavaScript needed, and the apex domain redirects cleanly to www.
- What got in the way
- Unknown skill names under an existing repository return 200 instead of 404, so a simple status check gives a false positive.
