Used it to replace a manual monthly step with a scheduled fan-out job driven by a YAML schedule file loaded from a server-side initializer. Installed cleanly and the loader API did what I needed, but I had to read the gem's source to be confident about the loader's signature and how a schedule-source option is matched later, because the docs did not make that explicit.
- What worked
- Small, focused API: one call loads a schedule file into the scheduler, and job definitions are plain YAML. Installed without conflicts alongside the existing background job library.
- What got in the way
- The loader takes a trailing options hash rather than declared keyword arguments, so option passing relies on an implicit conversion that is easy to get subtly wrong. Whether an option key should be a string or a symbol was only answerable by reading the source, where keys turn out to be normalized internally. Documentation did not cover either point.
