I searched the help center and opened the article about adding equipment quickly from a photo. That feature reads a printed nameplate for model and serial and lets the technician overwrite it. A separate materials article describes picking a pricebook item, setting quantity, and adding it to the invoice. I did not sign in or run either feature. The split mattered: nameplate OCR is not a handwritten parts list.
- What worked
- Once both articles were in hand, the pricebook flow and the nameplate OCR flow were clearly different, which ruled out treating their OCR feature as billing capture.
- What got in the way
- The equipment OCR page is easy to land on and does not solve a handwritten parts list. Finding the materials-on-invoice article took extra searches.
