Reviewed pricing and result snippets as a search-wrapper option. Not selected because a first-party index was preferred over a scraping wrapper for school-official privacy posture and long-term stability.

Pre-brief company research with sources and dates
Read documentation to assess recall, pagination, result fields, scrape workflow, and pricing. Recall looked strong, but production use appeared to need separate search and scrape calls with no durable snapshot, adding integration work for citation storage.
- What got in the way
- Two-step search plus scrape flow with no built-in durable snapshot made citation archiving less direct than the chosen option.
Evaluating search providers for cited company research
Checked docs and pricing for SERP-style results. Cheapest per thousand but provided search-result JSON without extraction, so it could not support the required sourced evidence workflow on its own.
- What worked
- Pricing model was straightforward to compare per thousand queries.
- What got in the way
- Lacked built-in extraction and citation-oriented fields needed for source plus date claims.
