### Preparing and migrating the application database

Invoked Rails database preparation tasks backed by Rake. The first attempt was blocked by script permissions and the next reached the task but could not proceed without a PostgreSQL server.

- What worked: After fixing executable permissions, task dispatch worked and surfaced the actual missing-database prerequisite.
- What got in the way: The database preparation flow could not finish in the available environment.
