### Managing Ruby dependencies

Used remote gem search and gem specification to check available versions and the required Ruby version of specific releases when the latest SDK would not install.

- What worked: Remote specification lookup by version let me inspect required_ruby_version and release dates without downloading gems.
- What got in the way: Specification output is raw YAML, so pulling a single field needed grep gymnastics, and one lookup exited non-zero with no explanation.
