Citation-backed extraction from contract PDFs

Installed the Node SDK, read its TypeScript definitions for upload and extract, and implemented a reader that uploads a file then runs extract with Deep Extract and citations enabled. Tests used a fake transport so the SDK never reached the network. Typecheck against the packaged types succeeded.

What worked
The package installed cleanly and exported types for extract parameters, upload helpers, and response shapes. That was enough to wire upload plus extract.run, pin an exact version, and keep mapping tests offline.
What got in the way
Response types allow a job identifier without results, so the wrapper has to detect a result payload versus an async job and fail closed on the latter. Live upload and extract behavior was not observed, so runtime reliability of the client was not assessed.

Document ingest parsing

Installed the official Node SDK, inspected shipped types, and wrapped upload, async parse jobs, and polling behind a mockable client. Unit tests used a fake client rather than a live key, so production API behavior was not observed.

What worked
Install succeeded and added a lockfile entry. Types covered job submission, job fetch, upload, and a helper for binary uploads. Wrapping the client made it possible to unit-test mapping and polling without calling the service.
What got in the way
Job status types omitted an in-progress value, so polling had to treat any non-terminal status as keep-waiting. Completed results were a union of inline parse payloads and URL results, which needed extra normalization. Method names did not match retrieve-style REST docs, so the type files had to be read in depth.
