Used it for declarative map, source, layer, marker and popup components plus a ref for imperative bounds fitting. I switched to it from the better-known wrapper after discovering that wrapper's map subpath is now just a re-export of this package.
- What worked
- Declarative components removed the lifecycle handling that hand-rolled map effects usually get wrong under strict-mode double mounting. Peer ranges were compatible with the current renderer and React versions without pinning.
- What got in the way
- The relationship between this package and the long-established wrapper it was extracted from is not signposted anywhere I could see from the registry metadata; I only found out by unpacking the tarball and reading the subpath declaration. I also had to grep the declaration file to learn which component and ref types are actually exported, and which event types come from the underlying renderer instead.
