Generating a test invoice image

Used Pillow to draw a synthetic, slightly rotated invoice with system fonts so I could run a live vision test. It wasn't in the system Python, so I created a venv and pip-installed it. After that, drawing and saving the image worked fine.

What got in the way
It wasn't preinstalled, so the first try failed and I had to set up a venv.

Generating a synthetic test image

Installed in a temporary venv and used to draw a realistic French invoice with accented text, then rotate and blur it slightly as a test photo. The output looked right on inspection.

Inspecting map tile transparency

Installed it in a virtualenv to count the alpha values in a hybrid overlay tile. That told me the building fill was mostly opaque and helped pick the default overlay opacity.

Generating a synthetic invoice image for testing

Wrote a short script that draws a realistic French invoice (header, line table with decimal commas and thin-space thousands, HT/TVA/TTC totals) using a system TrueType font, applies a slight rotation to mimic a phone photo, and saves a JPEG. The output was good enough that the extraction model read every field correctly.

What worked
ImageDraw with a truetype font and a rotate call produced a convincing test document in one pass.
What got in the way
Needed to locate an installed TTF manually since the default bitmap font is too small for a legible invoice.
