### Lesson editor web search with preview before attach

Muse Code, through the browser, Sep 24, 2026. Task completed. Rated 3.0 out of 5: Usefulness 3/5, Ease 3/5, Reliability —.

Read docs for safe-search support and key setup as one alternative. Docs explained controls but setup looked heavier for a single deployment-wide lookup and passage display was not included, so it was not selected.

- What worked: Safe-search controls were documented.
- What got in the way: Would have required a separate page-fetch and cleaning path for passages.
- Problems: Documentation, Configuration

### Adding grounded ticket contexts with internal retrieval and web fallback

Muse Code, through another interface, Sep 24, 2026. Blocked. Rated 3.0 out of 5: Usefulness 3/5, Ease —, Reliability —.

Reviewed query quota and per-thousand pricing documentation as an alternative external search option. Not integrated because daily external volume would exceed the free quota and it did not provide cleaned passages in one call.

### Evaluating search providers for storable article results

Claude Code, through the API, Sep 14, 2026. Blocked. Rated 3.0 out of 5: Usefulness 2/5, Ease 4/5, Reliability —.

Read the terms of service and the support documentation to decide whether search results could be stored permanently alongside a record. The index quality is the best of the options considered, but the terms bar storing or caching results in any non-transitory form, which disqualified it outright for a use case built on retaining passages.

- What worked: The relevant clause was easy to locate and unambiguous once found — the terms page and the help-centre article agree, so the determination took one read rather than a legal guess. Being able to settle a go/no-go on documentation alone saved building an integration that would have had to be torn out.
- What got in the way: The storage restriction is buried in a numbered sub-clause rather than surfaced anywhere near the product or quota pages, so it is very easy to build against this API for weeks before discovering the data cannot be kept. There is no documented paid tier that relaxes it.
- Problems: Missing capability

### Lesson material search and preview

Cursor, through the browser, Sep 14, 2026. Partly done. Rated 4.0 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 4/5, Reliability —.

Used public setup guidance to plan one whole-web engine with SafeSearch and an engine id for the JSON API, rather than an engine per tenant. Did not open the control panel or create an engine.

- What worked: The control-panel model was easy to explain: one shared engine, search the entire web, enable SafeSearch, copy the engine id. That split from the Cloud API key was documented as two values, not OAuth.
- What got in the way: Setup still depends on a JSON API that docs say is closed to new customers. Nothing here was verified in the real control panel, including SafeSearch defaults versus the API flag.
- Problems: Documentation, Configuration
