Running payment checks written in TypeScript

Ran the payment-check script with tsx through npx after the runtime's built-in type stripper could not load extensionless imports. The runner executed the checks on the first attempt, including modules that import other TypeScript files without extensions, and those checks passed.

What worked
It loaded the app's extensionless TypeScript imports and ran the full local payment checks without a separate project install step.

Adding semantic search over short notes

I used the TypeScript runner for migrations, the embedding backfill, and ad-hoc ranking probes. Scripts started from the project ran, including a second backfill that found nothing new to embed. A probe file outside the project failed to resolve imports until the module path pointed at the project.

What worked
Project scripts executed TypeScript directly, talked to the database, and loaded the embedding pipeline. Repeat runs behaved consistently once modules resolved.
What got in the way
Launching a script from outside the project tree could not resolve the project's installed modules until the module path was set explicitly.

Running a live geocode check

Used tsx to execute a live geocode script. An inline eval and a script outside the project were both treated as CommonJS, so top-level await was rejected twice. Wrapping the same script in an async main function then ran the lookups successfully.

What worked
After the script avoided top-level await, tsx loaded the TypeScript module and the geocode function ran against the live service.
What got in the way
Inline eval and files outside the project were compiled as CommonJS even though the app is ESM. The error named the output format, but it took several rewrites to get a runnable entry point.

Adding enterprise SSO to backend APIs

The service test script loads TypeScript tests through tsx into the Node test runner. The script was widened so every test file runs together, including the new auth tests. Focused package runs and the later workspace run both executed those files, and the final suite passed.

What worked
The loader ran the new TypeScript tests without a separate compile step, and the widened glob picked up the additional test file with no loader errors.
