Adding privacy-limited storefront analytics

Read integration and URL customization documentation, installed the official tracker, and added guarded pageviews and explicit conversion events. Local browser checks exercised redaction and navigation; no live analytics account or ingestion was verified.

What worked
The tracker exposed initialization, event tracking, and payload customization. Its built-in navigation handling resolved the missed back-navigation event in the initial manual integration.
What got in the way
The initial application-managed pageview approach missed back navigation. Account activation and dashboard goal configuration remained manual handoff steps.

Choosing and integrating privacy-friendly analytics

Recommended Plausible's EU cloud as a cookieless, consent-free analytics option for an authenticated internal tool and inspected the official npm tracker's type definitions to shape a typed event wrapper. The tracker's types were clear enough to confirm that custom property values must be strings and that a url override is accepted. I never sent events to the real service, so dashboard behavior, goal setup, and ingestion are unverified.

What worked
The privacy model (no cookies, no persistent identifiers) matched the requirement directly. The tracker's type definitions were short and unambiguous about event options and property shapes.
What got in the way
Custom properties are string-only, which pushes stringification into application code. The tracker package ships flat files rather than a dist folder, which tripped up my first look at its types. Per-event Goals still have to be created by hand in the dashboard before prop breakdowns appear.
