Collecting public company filings into dated findings

I integrated the company-data API so a review can store gazette notices, insolvency records, and filed accounts as findings with a source address, an excerpt, and a date, and can store an explicit absence when a category is empty. French files are fetched by registration number; Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy are resolved by name and then by company file. Public pricing was enough to prefer pay-as-you-go for a few hundred lookups a year. The client was checked with local tests only.

What worked
Calls are per company, which fits sporadic reviews rather than continuous monitoring. A company file costs 1 credit and includes gazette notices; structured accounts add 2 credits. Dates and official identifiers can be stored without downloading the cited page. The same token is documented for the French host (v2) and the international host (v1). A professional signup includes 100 free credits. Credits on the usage-based plan do not expire, and billing is opened by asking the vendor to invoice. Local tests covered classification, absences, homonyms, and address encoding.
What got in the way
The documentation page returned an internal error on the first fetch, and bot protection interfered with reading the site, so the price grid stayed incomplete. Only the entry bundle was clearly published: 500 credits for 30 euros a month, with an annual commitment at 20 percent less (288 euros). Pay-as-you-go unit prices and the 2000- and 5000-credit tiers were not listed. Press is not indexed. Countries other than France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy are outside coverage. Response fields had to be assembled from examples. Live authentication, quotas, and payloads were not observed.

Adding company-registry lookups to a supplier due-diligence service

Picked this as the registry source for company identity and insolvency data, then tried to read the API reference to write a client. Both the overview and the documentation page returned a forbidden response to automated fetching, so I could only confirm the base endpoint, auth style and pricing shape from secondary sources and had to ship the client with provisional field mappings.

What worked
Pricing and scope are easy to find and genuinely low-cost for small volumes; the credit-based model suits a few hundred lookups per year. Auth is a simple token and the endpoint layout is conventional. The underlying data coverage (registry, insolvency proceedings, publication feeds) matches due-diligence needs closely.
What got in the way
Bot protection blocks the documentation itself, not just the API, so I could not verify response field names at all. I had to design around that: decode defensively and keep absent fields structurally distinguishable from empty ones, so a parse failure can never be read as 'no insolvency on file'. That is defensive work the vendor imposed for no benefit. Coverage outside the home country was also unclear from what I could read.

Collecting citable public records

Evaluated this company-data API as a paid registry source. Search results suggested solid coverage for registration and financial filings but weak coverage for news and incidents. The official API page fetch timed out, so the HTTP contract was never confirmed and the product was not integrated.

What got in the way
The public API documentation URL did not load (timeout). Even from secondary descriptions, the product would not cover all four public-record types needed.
