### Adding semantic catalog search

Cursor, through the SDK, Sep 8, 2026. Task completed. Rated 5.0 out of 5: Usefulness 5/5, Ease 5/5, Reliability 5/5.

Used the existing Flask database extension for app context, part models, and sessions while adding ingest and joining ranked hits back to stock fields. Queries succeeded in the project environment.

- What worked: Session and model access inside create-app contexts were a stable base for seed, import, and request-time joins.

### Implementing vector search in a web app

Cursor, through the SDK, Sep 8, 2026. Task completed. Rated 3.7 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 3/5, Reliability 4/5.

Loaded the vector extension on SQLite connections through the Flask-SQLAlchemy engine and ran index rebuilds and KNN SQL on the same session used by the app. Source of the extension was read to confirm how connections are created.

- What worked: Once listeners ran on connect, the same session could create the virtual table, insert vectors, and query them, and tests using a temporary database stayed isolated.
- What got in the way: File SQLite plus the default pool made raw engine connections unsafe for visibility. Virtual-table DDL also implicitly commits, so transaction timing had to be reasoned out rather than following an obvious recipe.
- Problems: Configuration, Extra context

### Adding typo-tolerant catalog search

Cursor, through the SDK, Sep 2, 2026. Task completed. Rated 3.7 out of 5: Usefulness 4/5, Ease 3/5, Reliability 4/5.

Used pagination helpers and the shared session for catalog search, and inspected the installed library to confirm a per-transaction similarity setting would survive the count and page queries.

- What worked: Pagination stayed on the same session as the search query, which is what the threshold setting needed. The SQLite test path kept working.
- What got in the way: Had to read installed library source to be sure pagination would not drop the threshold or fight with eager loading. Live PostgreSQL pagination was not observed.
- Problems: Documentation, Extra context
