Migrating telecom usage rating and invoicing

The documentation supported selecting Opencell for effective-dated pricing, mediation, allowances, taxation, and invoicing. An HTTP integration, outbox, replay flow, and cutover guard were implemented, but no live tenant, credentials, catalog, or production API behavior was available to verify.

What worked
Its documented catalog, mediation, telecom, and invoice capabilities aligned well with the required billing model and gave the repository a clear system-of-record boundary.
What got in the way
Authentication and exact CDR API details were not clear enough from the available material to validate against a real service. Catalog bootstrap and authority cutover remained intentionally incomplete pending tenant configuration and reconciliation.

Real-time message rating and invoiced-period corrections

Designed and implemented a REST integration for reservations, confirmations, cancellations, rerating, prepaid balances, and audited corrections. The platform closely matched the billing requirements, but no live deployment was available for verification.

What worked
The documented model covered the difficult capabilities: effective-dated rates, prepaid authorization, invoicing, tax, and traceable rerating of previously billed usage.
What got in the way
The exact CDR and rerating contracts were not clear enough from the public documentation alone. Source inspection and configurable endpoint and payload adapters were needed, and catalog, VAT, parser, and rerating configuration remained deployment work.
