Installed version 2.13.0 and wired chat completions to an Azure endpoint so stored passages could be summarized. Reaching Azure-style API keys, managed-identity tokens, and the processing-region response header required custom pipeline policies, experimental constructor warnings, and several header-position fixes before the project compiled. The client was never called live.
- What worked
- Once the pipeline was assembled, ChatClient was a viable way to send structured briefing requests without adding a second official Azure OpenAI package.
- What got in the way
- Default bearer API-key behavior does not match Azure’s api-key header. Token credentials from Azure Identity are not an AuthenticationTokenProvider. Experimental constructors warned, and pipeline position plus response-header APIs were easy to get wrong from the XML docs alone.
