### Validating SQL without a database server

Installed as a candidate for checking schema and query syntax offline, but abandoned before use in favour of a parser built from the database's own grammar, because the schema relied on dialect-specific constructs a reimplemented grammar seemed unlikely to accept.

- What worked: Installation was fast and unremarkable, and it is a reasonable default when only portable SQL is involved.
- What got in the way: Never exercised, so no behavior observed. The decision against it was a judgment about dialect coverage, not an observed failure.
