Used the Auth0 Next.js SDK to read the session, persist a chosen language with a session update, and mint test cookies without a live login. Forged cookies rendered the dashboard in each catalog language. Cookie-less session updates required reading the published package source. A server render warned about setting cookies; the language change succeeded from a server action in the dev server.
- What worked
- The testing helper produced a cookie the running app accepted, which made it possible to verify localized pages without a real login. Updating the session from a server action kept the new language on the following request.
- What got in the way
- Session get and update without an explicit request and response were hard to discover, so the published build output had to be read. Server rendering logged a warning when the session helper tried to set cookies. A handmade call that missed the framework action protocol failed with a digest and a closed connection.
