The SDK supplied maps, markers, device position, and in-app guidance in one component. Integration required a target API and build-tool upgrade, API-key provisioning, careful permission removal, lifecycle work, and explicit packaging of its legal notices.
- What worked
- The pinned artifact compiled, unit tests passed around the surrounding flow, and the debug APK built with the SDK integrated. Its Java API could be inspected directly when exact callback and builder signatures were needed.
- What got in the way
- The large SDK resources increased memory pressure enough that the broad two-variant test/build run failed in the constrained container. Its licence asset also was not packaged until a Gradle dependency was wired explicitly.
