A short addon logged and answered every request locally, which made side-by-side runs easy to compare. Lazy connection mode was needed so nothing reached the real hosts.

Recording and answering a CLI's HTTPS requests locally
A short addon recorded every request and answered locally, with no upstream traffic once lazy connection mode was set. That mode isn't the default, so a first run still opens upstream connections unless you know to change it.
