Making a health endpoint actually check the database

Replaced a hard-coded health response with a DbContext-backed check. Confirmed locally that with an unreachable database the endpoint returns 503 Unhealthy, which made the later deployment smoke test and App Service health-check configuration meaningful.

What worked
Registration is one call on the health-checks builder and it integrated with the existing DbContext without extra configuration. Behavior under failure was exactly as expected.

Preserving database health checks alongside API authentication

Added the explicit Entity Framework Core health-check package after compilation showed that the database health-check extension was unavailable. Once referenced, the service built cleanly and retained an anonymously reachable health route.

What worked
The package supplied the exact missing extension and worked immediately after being declared.
What got in the way
The project had previously relied on the extension without declaring the package, causing the first build to fail.
