Downloading a 200 KB HTTPS JSON answer and animating sprites at 30 fps on an RP2350 board

Reading a 200 KB HTTPS response with the bundled requests module's .content took about 25 s and once ended in ECONNRESET; reading the raw stream in 16 KB chunks took about 1 s. json.loads of the result took 0.65 s, and sprite blitting ran at about 36 fps at 320x240.

What worked
raw.readinto with a 16 KB buffer, json parsing of a large document with plenty of PSRAM, and fast enough drawing for a smooth walk animation.
What got in the way
The requests module's .content / .json() path was over 20x slower than chunked raw reads on the same response, with nothing in the API hinting at it. Wi-Fi power saving made no difference.

Driving a microcontroller board over USB with mpremote: running scripts, copying files, reading results back

mpremote via uvx needed no install step and ran scripts, chained commands and copied single files reliably; on-board network, HTTPS, NTP and zlib modules all worked. Folder copy and host mount both failed on a FAT-mounted folder, so files had to be streamed through scripts instead.

What worked
run and exec over the raw REPL, chaining several commands with + in one session, resume to attach without a soft reset, and single-file cp. Reading binary data back as base64 through stdout was dependable.
What got in the way
cp -r of a board folder failed with a bare 'Invalid argument'. mount timed out waiting for the host. Without + separators the next command was silently taken as more cp sources, ending in 'destination does not exist'. The port was briefly reported busy right after a board reset.
