Installed redis-memory-server 0.14.0 in a scratch directory to obtain a temporary Redis for queue tests. Postinstall spent several minutes downloading Redis source, extracted hundreds of megabytes, and failed during compilation. No server binary was produced, so the package never started an instance.
- What worked
- The install entry point was enough to see that postinstall is what fetches and builds Redis.
- What got in the way
- Compilation failed with module errors and left no redis-server binary. Suppressed install output made the multi-minute failure look idle, and the package never provided a server for the queue tests.
