Installed the official MCP server package as a direct dependency so tools could be registered for the cloud agent. Type entry points were inconsistent, and registerTool was confirmed from alternate declaration files. The server was not run against a live MCP client.
- What worked
- Once the correct declarations were found, tool registration types were detailed enough to implement the endpoint alongside the Next.js adapter.
- What got in the way
- The first expected ESM server declaration path was missing, which forced hunting through other dist type files and a handler-bundled declaration to get a usable registerTool signature.
