Read the Maps URLs getting-started page and added a directions link with api=1 and a coordinate destination, leaving the origin blank so the maps app can start from the visitor. No API key or billing account was needed. A live header request to that URL returned success. The directions screen was not opened, so routing behavior was not scored.
